Other than pasta and pizza, are there any other Italian foods / meals?

Pasta and pizza are my favourite foods ever, so if there are any others, they have to be good...

  1. Chicken Parmesan

    Baked Ziti

    Lasagna

    Veal Piccata

    Bruschetta

    Penne Pasta

    Fettucine Alfredo

    Linguine with Clam Sauce

There are so many more....but these are some of my favorites.

  2. - Risottis

    - Polenta

    - many soups like the famous Minestrone

    - seafood any style

    - beans specially in Toscany

  3. lasagna, antipasti, garlic bread, buchetta(dunno if spelt correct)

  4. one of my recent faves (to make and eat) is eggplant parmesan - i'm not even a vegetarian but it's SO GOOD!

i also made chicken cacciatore for the first time recently - it was delicious, & pretty healthy too.

i also love anything with ravioli or tortellini...yummm :-)

  5. italian cooking is really mroe of a style of cooking, meaning it uses fresh and simple ingrediants without complicating things, so like pasta and pizzas and calzones are the most known italin cooking is simple cooking e.g. chicken in roast pepper and tomato sauce, but the silver spoon for some good recipes

  6. Take a trip to a good Italian restaurant and look at the menu. There are far too many things to list here! But you can also go to Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Italian_cui...

  7. One of the chefs at school brought in a cookjbook called Regional Italian.  It has many different recipes that utilize as many proteins as you can think as well as veg and pasta.  We were perfecting his idea af Bagna Caude which is an anchovy dip for crudite. Italians love FOOD.  Sure most of it includes pasta, but still very creative.

  8. Most Italians would say that there is no such thing as Italian food.  Most foods/dishes are in fact regional, particular to one place.  Pizza for example is from Naples, Pasta Bolognaise is from Bologne. If you go to Puglia, you won't find anything that you might find in Milano. If you do go to a pizza restaurant in Milan, chances are it's a tourist restaurant.

There are some universal foods, with regional twists; salcisse (sausages), formaggio (cheese), bread, wine.  But they're all used in different ways in different places.
