Question:

What Kind Of Bird Is For Me?

I want a bird, but not sure what kind is for me, I would want it to be loving and friendly, small to medium sized, and have a beautiful singing voice with no constant screaming. I have owned some birds as a kid, like cockatiels, ring necks, and some parakeets. Even a kind that can be taught to talk would be nice, but it will live in my bedroom so nothing really noisy. Oh yeah, I have a LOT of time on my hands, so I think a bird that needs a lot of attention would occupy me well, What do you think?

  1. actually you said that you have time oh well.............. i vote for a lovebird bcox my cous also has blue-faced lovebird It talks plays the piano and even type on the key board so it needs lots of time and training all u need is a cage lovebird and walla! you`ve got yourself a perfect pet but beware your love bird might breack locks in the cage

P.S it needs tons of toys

  2. love birds perhaps?

  3. magpie is a nice bird, it sings quite well (loudly)and can be taught to speak(very very loudly). when it is young however, it makes very horible noises though(even loulder). or, you can get a dove, their cooing is quite relaxing, not too loud. but they cant talk.

  4. If you can swing it Grey's are fun!

  5. Parakeets-

    -Very Active

-Requires constant attention, or it'll go insane.

-Very loyal. (Which means it will be attracted to you, and only you.)

-Very Chatty, and will talk to inanimate objects if you don't give it enough attention.

-The second best imitator of sounds. (The first is the African Grey)

    Love Birds

    -Very Cute

    -Allows you to pet it.

    -Very easy to train.

-Can not immitate sounds very well.

-Bites you hard if you don't pay attention to it.

    Parrotlets

-Require a lot of attention. (For it's safety, mainly.)

-Fearless and Daring, which means it will be eaten by a cat within weeks if you don't protect it.

-A mini parrot that does very well when imitation sounds.

-Looks like a lovebird, but bigger. (And cuter)

    -Very Friendly, almost too friendly...

    Cockatoos

    -Same as parakeets

    -Afraid of the dark.

(It will start screaming if awaken abruptly in the dark.)

    -Very good whistlers.

Here is a star wars video of cockatiels:

-When handfed, it will let you touch its fluffy little head. Rewarding.

Remember, when you're buying a pet bird, always try and get fledglings (or baby birds that can already beat seeds).

    Good luck!

  6. Budgies are the best.  Small, not annoyingly loud (pretty quiet if you only get one), loving, loyal, fun, playful, funny.  They require plenty of love and attention.  They can learn tricks and even to talk (the males at least).  They come in pretty much every color but red.  Inexpensive.

    Good luck!

  7. I have 3 types of birds in my house

    parakeets

    Canaries

and a Parrolet (picture in sources and can come in to colors blue and green)

and since you have a lot of time in your hands i think you should get a parrolet because they need to be let out talked to and you have to feed them by hand so that it can get used to you in the first couple of days

they are quite and can learn how to talk

i got mines at a flea market

i also forgot to say that hey are very very small I'd say about 4 inches tall

    and they are really friendly

if you get one, get one thats at least 3 months old so that it can grow with you and get used to you more easily

  8. parakeets love birds or a cockatail

  9. lovebirds can be pretty loud, so can quakers, im thinking maybe a senegal or a pionus check out http://www.parrotcentral.net/companion_p... for good parrot guides
