Question:

What Kind Of Career Would You Rather Have?

If you had to choose between two:

You win 4 Grand Slams in a span of 2 years, both years you win 2 of 4, you end up completing the Career Slam, but you never make another Slam Final and only a few other semifinals, in total your career from your first Slam semifinal to your last is 4 years, all others are mired in mediocre performance on all surfaces.

OR

You win 1 Slam in your entire career, and never make another Slam Final. However you make several Slam Semifinals at least once at each Slam. From your first Slam semifinal to your last is a span of 12 years.

  1. i like the first scenario.. it merits more grand slam wins..

and thats what i would rather have..

more prize money and more titles..

  2. The first one... noone gives a $hit about making the semifinals on a consistent basis when they review your career.  If you won 4 slams then you're still going to be thought of an elite player no matter what.

  3. anything that makes money that doesnt need work.

  4. Well I would put them both equally together and like either one very much.

  5. I would pick the 1st one.

  6. i would rather have the first one,win 4 slams, with the second one you would probably have a better ranking position for more years but nobody remembers the semifinalists...

  7. The first scenario. More championship trophies, period. Winning a Grand Slam is the ultimate goal.

  8. yep, I'd have to go with the first scenario too. If I'm good enough to win 2 slams per year then I most be winning some other tournaments also so I assume I would possibly reach #1, which would be another great accomplishment.

  9. Everyone wants to win the golden prize. I'd like to win as many Slams as possible so choice !.

  10. The first choice without a doubt, and then retire.

  11. scenario #1 hands down.. people barely remember the losers of the finals so the losers of the semifinals are just going to be unknown..besides in scenario 2 people will think you choke in big situations

  12. the 1st one.

  13. Oh definitely the first.  Sure, you get accused of being a shooting star whose flame burned out too quickly like Tracy Austin or Michael Chang, but at least you're remembered.  If you end up with the second scenario you're accused of being a choker who only won the big one once.
