What Kind of Golf Clubs Should I get?

Question

I am in the market for new clubs, I am an 8 handicap but I shoot the occasional par. I strike the ball solidly every time, its just a matter of short game that does me wrong. I was looking to get the Titleist 735 CM, AP2, or Callway X-Tour, X-Forged. Other clubs can be suggested. I am looking for clubs that have nice workablity, a bit of forgivness for the occasional miss (not by alot), minimal offset, and a thinner topline, does not need to look like a thin muscle back, just not oversized.

i am also looking for a new set of irons. i am still using my trusty 1991 model ben hogans. if ben hogan came out with a new set of irons i would buy them today.

there are so many different kinds to look at now. the only way to know for sure is to demo a few. i am currently demoing titlelist ap2's and they are very nice. you should be able to find a demo day somewhere. if you have a pro at your course who may know your game, he should be able to help you.

I haven't used any of the clubs you mentioned but I do have the old Nike Sling Shot irons, I've had them for about five years and they work well for me, I play off 2.6. Also I don't think they are too expensive these days. Good Luck.

From your information I'd advise the AP 2.   a real solid line of clubs from a great Manufacturer......and work on that Short game   lol
