What Kind of dog am i?

Question

when i got my dog, they told me she was a pure breed chihuahua. but i don't think so... my husband and i think she has some min pin in her... she loves to run around and play... she's constantly begging to get attention. when my husband and i play around each other like him pulling my leg she starts barking at him like telling him let her go!.. lol but yet, she loves to cuddle with him. She's very alert and barks at every dog she sees and stranger.. but once she gets to sniff you and know you more she's very lovable..

i think she might be full chihuahua. or if not a tiny but of dachshund in her.

She looks like a chihuahua to me.  Some of them are just bigger than others.  You can guestimate how much they are going to be by the weight of the mom and dad, but you can never know for sure.  It's like trying to tell someone how tall their child is going to end up.  If she had longer legs I might be inclined to agree with a little min pin in the mix, but she looks all chihuahua to me.

The breeding of chihuahuas became very popular: it's easy to keep a lot of them. Because of this, the body styles vary tremendously and so do personality traits.

There are two basic body types, the "cob" which is stocky and the "deer" with more delicate, graceful features. Yours appears very similar to the latter.

While the weight does line up with a min pin more than a chi, because of the profuse breedings, I have seen pure chis that weighed that much. Admittedly, they did not have the athletic body of your dog.

However

She does exhibit several of the body traits of a min pin and also the color. Primarily the narrow waist opposed to the deep chest. Most chis just aren't built that way. Also, her eyes are not as buggy as most chis are.

Her actions could fit into chi behavior as it runs quite a gammit and much of her physical characterstics do.

While it is possible she is pure chi, you're right, I do see that potential min pin.
