  1. play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find colors that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

I think "bakelite gold" (# 6368) would look terrific in the kitchen.

You can also take a photo of your house & upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:

You can get color suggestions & they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like.

  2. I think some shade of red will look awesome! Like a maroon/pumpkin kind of color. That would totally draw everything in the room together.

  3. I would choose a bridge color between the two extremes of white and the very dark colors you have. Something like a rich cinnamon brown would bring warmth to the room. If you want to keep it cool, then a medium taupe (grayish tan) would work.

If you want a high-tech ultra contemporary look, then a warm gray might work. I would be afraid that would be too similar to the stainless steel color, though. Some paint manufacturers sell very small sample sizes of their paint so you can try it out on the wall rather than try to decide based on a little paper sample. I would do that when you have narrowed it down to a couple of your favorite colors.

  4. persimmon

  5. I would try to go with a light-greenish color.

  6. a really light limish green (more pastel) would look really nice.

    or a yellow.

  7. Burgundy would look nice there, but it's not really a kitchen a colour, I really don't know which colour would look best, but I would say to keep it bright, no matter what don't darken it. =)
