Every country in the world is dangerous if you go to the wrong places and dont follow precautions. Some people say Colombia for the drug lords problems? I dont think so! I had a fabulous time there and never got mugged, been 3 times to Brazil and never got mugged, went to Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Peru, Ecuador, Venezuela and nothing has ever happened to me! Crime rates are just statistics, they show you a part of the country and what happens in a specific period of time. I have read about crime rate going up to the sky in places like LA and NY but went there and nothing happened! You cannot base your trip or plan to travel based on crime statistics, you may chose a relatively quiet country and end up being muggeed or worse.

A country cannot be labelled as dangerous, the danger comes from certain people and these criminals do not belong to a specific country. I'm sorry not to be of more help but you ask a question like this and simply get statistics (I'm sure someone will give them to you) or read our opinions on this subject.
