What Layer Do the highest storm clouds reach?

I think its Cumulonimbus incus but i dont know what atmospheric layer that would be at...

  1. Some can punch through the tropopause into the stratosphere.

Cumulonimbus clouds can build up into the very lowest portion of the stratosphere.  Sometimes if a storm is distant enough, you may see the generally flat clouds spreading out from the upper portion of the storm (the anvil), and at the same time see some sharper clouds appearing to bubble above the flatter high clouds.  These bubbles of clouds are where the updraft is strong enough that it rises a short distance into the stratosphere simply due to it's momentum.  It doesn't make it far because the stratosphere is by nature stable and air does not normally rise in that layer.

  3. I'm not sure what its called, some storm clouds such as supercell storms could reach up to 50,00 ft+

  4. Generally no cloud(including cumulonimbus whch producec thunderstorm) can grow above tropopause as temperature increases with height in the stratosphere creating a stable condition for the atmosphere in which clouds will not develop.
