What Lizard should I buy?

My parents told me that I could buy a lizard if I wanted too. I have no experience on taking care of lizards or other reptiles. Is there an cheap, yet easy to handle lizard? By average how long do they live? I don't want a crocodile, I want a little lizard.

you need a licence for a reptile i dont know why but you do.
the best type to get is a blue tounge lizard to can let them out on the floor and come back in 20 minutes and they will still be there its amazing. but still you need a licence ok hope this helps oh and blue toung lizards are like the friendlest lizards they dont bite. hope that helps you.
