What Makes Halo So Cool? It Seem's Like A Regular Shooting Game?

well i think the big thing about halo is that it was the first good game released for the xbox but in my opinion ever since call of duty 4 came out halo is slowly going down in popularity.

I know what you mean: It is just a shooter, but there's something about it that hooks you in.

I guess it's all just really well done; the controls are good, the graphics in all the games look good. I guess, all in all, the production values are quite good.

Plus, the multiplayer's really good fun, and I guess fun is what matters most :)

Personally, I've never understood the big deal about it.  I've tried to play it, and yeah, it's a good shooter, but I can't seem to really get into it.  I had a lot more fun with Bioshock.  Maybe it's because a big part of games for me is the story, and Halo's story never appealed to me.

it is my favorite shooter game too, i don't know why it is so cool, probarly beause it has a lot of things that other shooters dont have, graphics are great, gameplay is totally different than other games, it is just awesome!

I have no idea what all the hype is about halo. it really confuses me. Halo 1 stepped up the FPS genre. but after no. 1 everything got irritating for me. Halo 3 is the same as halo 2 really but with a different background. The story telling is terrible and halo cannot match alot of the amazing FPS's now.

is it an average game, yes. but why it has soo much hype is beyond me. i think COD4 destroys it but thats my opinion
