What Medicare Advantage Plan C is the best one? My grandmother is signing up for A & B next month.

    There is no one best policy. It all depends on her situation.

    There are several types, and what is available will depend on her location because these policies are county specific as well as state specific. There are HMO, PPO, POS, PFFS, and MSA. Some of these plans have doctor networks so you'll need to make sure that her doctors accept the plan.

    Many will include Part D prescription drug coverage so you'll need to check each plan if she takes medication to make sure that her drugs are on the formulary and at what tier level. This is one of the biggest differences between plans. Another big difference is the inpatient hospital co-pay.

    Visit a local agent that works with all the major plans in her area. The agent can do all the leg work for you and find the best plan for her. There is no extra charge using an agent.
