After my therapist had determined she thinks I have Attention Deficit, she's referred me to the psychiatrist to talk about medication. I was wondering what kind of medication was most common, and what to expect as far as results.

  1. They normally put you on a drug called Ritalin, it does have quite a few side affects , but it does work but don't let it put you off speak to your therapist about the side affects.

  2. IMO this diagnosis is too often applied to people who lack self-discipline and maturity.  but for the sake of your family and grades, do see the shrink.  Ritalin is a commonly prescribed medication which helps people focus, stays in your system a very short time (thus needs to be taken on schedule) and has no bad side effects.  Curiously, Ritalin is a stimulant but it has a long history of helping people with ADD.

Do your own online research into it, please.

  3. addderall or ritalin

  4. adderall is pretty much the most common ; my brother was diagnosed about 13 years ago. but he found that he was depressed and had thoughts of suicide, which is a side affect, so you might want to be aware and let your doctor know because there are other medications. he is on a new medication im not positive what the name is but the only REAL side affect that he feels is no hunger.

i think the medicine is called ritalin?

    good luck (:

  5. My daugther was diagnoses with ADD, I tried medications but it make her way too skinny, and she hardly slept.  I did some research and found liquid form Vitamin B complex it worked for her. It had every vitamin b in it.  I bought in a health food store.  Expensive but worth it.  Good Luck.
