  1. the crf150r motocrosser it runs inthe same class as the other boyz 85's because the 150cc is a four-stroke & the 85cc are two-strokes that said you could race the crf80cc along side the 65cc two-strokes it all depends on your capabilities  a bike that is to big is no fun at all .

  2. Touchy time for junior motocross with the crf 150 killing the 85's in competition. I'm holding off upgrading my 10yr olds rm85 at Tamworth to see what the other manufacturers do. But my son has tried the crf150 for size and it's the logical bike for 2009 if nothing changes.

  3. Tamworth is that near gunnedah? Well around that age whether your racing or not a crf80 is a bike he ( i assume your son) will grow out of FAST

Get the crf150, it will last a while as its a good bike for his age and he will take a long while to grow out of,

It doesnt matter what you ride if the bikes are evenly powered it comes down to skill on the track

remember though a crf150 is a heavy bike it could be a little hard to throw around the track at high speeds or a light person

    gd luck

  4. The CRF80 is not a motocross bike and will not stand up to being ridden on a motocross track unless he basically "rolls" every jump. The 150R is the same size as an 85. Most any 11 to 13 year old should have no problem on a bike that size. Personally I would go with the 150R, just be sure not to get the expert model with the 16" rear wheel, get the standard 14" model.
