  1. Buy one that fits. It should not be loose on your head.

Keep in mind that there is a difference between the full face and half shell styles. The half shell style allows a better peripheral view of your surroundings.

Color is a factor, Black is hot on your head in the summer. White reflects the heat. Black makes you invisible among the landscape, White shows up better for the cars etc. to see you. Then, there are colors that are in between.

You should try on the helmet, each brand fits differently, even though it is the same size. i.e. L, XL etc.

  2. No helmet cost's £1000 dude!

The RX7-RR Corse-air is full marks at £499.99.

Best helmets, Aria , Shoei & AVG.

What to look for ? The best you can afford.

Never buy online, always try the kit on. Ask the sales person, if they have been professionally trained, and if there store is an approved service centre for customer care.

The best bit of advice I can give you is : Buy cheap, buy twice.

There is a reason some helmets £50. Is because they are SHlTE.

  3. I agree with the others that you should buy a helmet that is the best you can afford as you only get one head.  And as Proc says you really should try them on as what one person finds comfortable another does not.

You don't say what type of riding you are doing but if you are doing motocross I would suggest looking at the fox helmets as have found they come with an extra visor which is something that is the first thing to go on a mx helmet and the visors on them seem to be a better quality than some of the other helmets.

The faster you are going the better the helmet you need as the cheaper ones are only polycarbon and are fine for beginner riders but those that are A grade riders or even those who are likely to be hit by a car on the road really need better protection

  4. HJC ONEAL SHOIE           get it at http://stores.ebay.com/Trax-Motorsports i got an oneal for 35$$$$$ chep and its jut as good i know the man and i hope u get a good and cheap 1

  5. Go to the shop. try out the helmets for fitting. Make sure its a good fit, whatever the make. and buy the best you can afford. you dont want to wish you had later. there is no price on your safety.

And like Wiggysan says dont buy second hand.

  6. Denniskirk.com or JCwhitney.com. Look for shoei helmets or HJC, Nolan,VR-1.
