What Muscles Does Swimming Train?

I need to know what muscles swimming trains for a project i have for school for p.e if you can please be specific like abs biceps or glutes and etc.

  1. that depends on the stroke... but for crawl it would use (probably)

    glutes, iliopsoas, quads, erector spinae, muscles in the rotator cuffs, biceps, traps, pectorals, lats...


  2. i think it is calfs/lower quads, back, shoulder blades, biceps, and diaphram (holding breath)

  3. Swimming works all the muscles in your body but to achieve this you must swim all the strokes. Some strokes focus on some muscles than others. Such as the breast stroke brings out the pecks more. Swimming works back and ab muscles and shoulders more than the lower body.
