My vet says that bleach is the most efficient killer of giardia and I can use a 1:16 or 1:32 bleach ratio.

Now my question...

I have hardwood floors. They aren't in the best shape anyways and we plan on having them refinished in about 2 years. Would that small amount of bleach hurt my floors in anyway?

  1. No it won't hurt your floors

  2. ..might want to ask about floor care in another forum.

Giardia can also be passed in infected f***s and stagnant water so make sure all p**p is picked up around your dog even if it's not yours if you live in a complex and that the dog stays away from standing water in puddles or nearby streams or lakes.

  3. No you should be fine. If your nervous about ruining your floors, you could do what did; I went out and purchased a Hard Surface Steam Cleaner because of my recent Giardia fight. I am big on the environment and I stay away from harsh chemicals - steam is a great way to naturally disinfect. I clean my tile floors with it. My Chis go on pee pee pads kept on my tile floor so I am constantly cleaning the floor.
