  1. I don't think charlie weiss is gone. After all he did sign a 10 year contract with ND. I think Willingham is a good choice, but I will throw out a name not yet mentioned in the Tommy Bowden. I know this Clemson team has high expectations this year, but he has been on the hot seat before, so I think if this years team doesn't live up to the hype and instead has a bad season it might be Tommy Bowden's turn to go.

  2. Iowa's Coach Kirk Ferentz.  Iowa has really gone into a tailspin here recently, and he makes over 3 million per year.  There is no way that Ferentz should make that much money for 6-6 seasons.

Weis won't be going anywhere due to the fact that he has an astronomical buyout clause in his contract.

  3. Ty Willingham is on the list.

There will be some grumbles in SEC land with the HUGE bucks they are paying for Saban and co if there isn't some improvement ( at least beating teams they should beat).

Mike Stoops out Zona- hey the team sucks but he may be gone.

Bob Stoops also needs to do something and win the BCS bowl. He is not on the hot seat b/c he is one of the best coaches but believe me there will be some complaining if OU wins 10-11 games and gets blown out again in the BCS.

  4. That would be Ty Willingham at the University of Washington.  He is starting his fourth year and has a record of 11-25.  He needs to have a winning season in 2008 if he wants to keep his job for much longer.

Also, Greg Robinson at Syracuse University is in a pretty desperate situation.  He is also going into his fourth year has head coach and has a record of 7 - 28.

  5. Notre Dame Coach

  6. Interesting question. Ill answer in two parts:

    - Hot seat coaches that could be fired:

Tyrone Willingham - Has carried a heavy price tag without producing the results. Had one great season with Notre Dame but has otherwise under achieved. Has a great tallent at QB in Jake Locker, which will raise expectations. If he cant win with Locker, somebody else will.

Kirk Fererntz - The Hawkeyes had a string of good seasons with QB Brad Banks (circa 2003-2005) but since have failed to meet expectations. Has had some problems with injury, but is really getting hammered in the recruiting area lately. The lack of tallent coming in doesnt help his chances of turning things around.

Mike Stoops - Arizona has enough tallent and an easy enough schedule that they should make a bowl game. While Arizona is not a rich tradition rich program, they understand 3 and 4 win seasons are unacceptable.

-Hot Seat coaches that wont leave, but will have angry fans

Bobby Bowden - The all time winningest coach is begining to wear on the fans in Tallahasse. With Jimbo Fisher in line as the successor coach many fans will be calling for the fresh face and the change over if Bowden cannot return FSU to the top of the ACC

Rich Rodriguez - Michigan has a lot of tradition and always has expectations. Following the departure of their stars this past season the fans are not too optimistic and wont hold back on letting the Maize and Blue know they arent happy.

Charlie Weiss - Has a huge buyout on his contract so its unlikely he will be fired until there is no other option. But that doesnt mean people wont be yelling about it if he has another debacle like last season.

  7. Yes Charlie Wiess (sp?) is on the hotseat for sure after that dissappointment last year

I think Rich Rodriguez is also up there with his new team in Michigan, whether his style of spread offense can hold up to the power defenses of the Big 10 is a big question, and after the whole buyout of his contract thing and him owing West Virginia money, he needs a big season this year

Mark Richt is up there too. His team has alot of high expectations, and he is one of the few SEC head coaches who has yet to win a National Championship Game. His team is 1 or 2 in almost every poll, and he has a lot of hype heading into this season

  8. Appalachian State coach, if he cant get another biggest upset in college history i think he is gone, jk, ya i think charlie weiss
