  1. Sam Rosen for the Rangers

  2. Here I go.

    #1 - Doc Emrick (NJ - MSG)

#2 - Joe Bowen (TOR - Rogers Sportsnet Ontario)

#3 - Dean Brown (OTT - Rogers Sportsnet East)

Jim Hughson and Chris Cuthbert are my two favourite commentators, but they only do national TV here in Canada.

  3. I personally loved Mike Lang when he announced the Pens games, the new people had a hard time identifying the difference between Ruutu #37 and Crosby #87. It was pretty bad when they even got Sykora #17 mixed with Crosby...  they should work on that, large differences there. I miss Lang (:  GET IN THE FAST LANE GRANDMA THE BINGO GAMES READY TO ROLL - Mike Lang

  4. My mute button is the best announcer.

  5. Jim Hughson For Vancouver/ Toronto

  6. carolinas ROFL

  7. i personally like the flyers annoucers but they arent famous like the other guys but they do a good job. I dont like when the games are on NBC or when im away from home and watch them (probably because i hate them being neutral or agasint the flyers)

  8. cant beat the stars' Razor

  9. As a homer, I'd have to say Mike Lange.  I also love listening to Doc Emrick.  His voice is one that I've associated with hockey for a long time and I just love his play by play.

  10. I liked Bob Cole best.

  11. RJ

  12. I've got to go with the homer pick: Mike Lange (Pittsburgh Penguins)! Otherwise, I may have to go with the one and only...Chuck Kaiton (Carolina Hurricanes). I've had beef with him, but you can't argue the results: he's the second dean of NHL broadcasters (outside of Rick Jennarett, been on board since 1979, back when Gordie Howe and Bobby Hull were still active players and when Mark Messier had a full head of hair).

  13. I would like to say Mike Lange when he did the Pens tv broadcasts but I also love Rick Jeannerette.  The guy is hilarious and he's always in the bar in Ontario getting absolutely pissed drunk and falling down!

  14. clearly Bob Cole is the best ever.

  15. I hate the Devils, but Doc is unbelievable and without a doubt the best broadcaster in the NHL...I often listen to the Devils feed during Rangers/Devils games just so I can hear Doc.

Jeanneret is good...SCARY GOOD!!! I like him, he's seen a lot, that May Day call is one of the best in league history.

I also like Howie Rose. I loved him when he was the Rangers broadcaster, he's a great broadcaster for the Mets, the call on Piazza's post 9/11 home run is tremendous. The Matteau goal call is sensational. His call on Sean Bates penalty shot and the Dublewitz shootout last year...he's awesome.

Sam Rosen...dont forget about him. I'm a Rangers fan so I'm kind of biased, but u gotta love Rosen. He's a straight foreward, no bullshit, broadcaster. I grew up with "HE SCORES! BRIAN LEETCH! ITS A POWER PLAY GOAL! AND THE RANGERS LEAD 2-1!" and of course "THE WAITING IS OVER! THE NEW YORK RANGERS ARE THE STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS...AND THIS ONE WILL LAST A LIFETIME!" He summed up the greatest moment in the history of New York sports (Aaron Boone HR or that) better than anyone.

Thanks! Hope this floats your boat!

  16. 1 - Doc Emrick (NJ - MSG)

    2. dan tarhar fsn north minnesota

    3. ny rangers dont remember the dudes name

  17. Okay my personal biased opinion is Bob Cole. Hearing him on Saturday nights is tradition. Rick Jeanneret is good too though, my cousin loves hearing him.

  18. Homer Time,

Terry Crisp - I think he's drunk half the time.

  19. I have heard them all... Bob Miller and Jim Fox of the LA Kings do a great job.  Sam Rosen of NYR is good.

  20. As a Ranger fan I still have to agree with all the Doc Emrick suggestions.    He's a great announcer.  Sam Rosen is great too and John Davidson was a great commentator during his time with the Rangers.

  21. I love the Sabres 1 cuz i love his voice its sick as cool he shots and scoresssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss...

    May day May day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  22. the sabres annoucer he has so much energy and a funny voice and also bob cole and joe bowen holy macana what a goal

  23. Mike Emrick takes it.  By the way he isnt really an MSG reporter its MSG+ or Fox Sports, owned by MSG but not really.  He is the most objective and knowledgable hockey announcer out there.  He even created a database that all other announcers use to correctly pronounce all the players names, so you will never here him mispronounce a player.

I think the only people saying Sam Rosen are Ranger fans because if your team (any team) is playing the Rangers he is the most biased announcer in the game.  Granted he has some great one liners, but if you listen to him try and cook something up for the slower portions of the game he makes himself look really bad.  He can call the action as he sees it but when he is forced to come up with some filler he just cant do it.  Most of the time he is really biased too.  I remember one time I think Malik blocked a shot and he went on and on about how great a shot blocker he is and how he changes the game with his shot blocking....well Malik had his back turned and it hit him in the *ss.  He just really annoys me sometimes
