  1. Hasek, Rob Ray, LaFontaine

  2. I'd say Marty Turco, and Ottawa Senators  Coach Craig Hartsburg

  3. Cam Neely still

  4. i agree with tampa girl im not from there nor i live in tampa but Vincent Lecavalier is one of my favorite hockey player and he does do a lot for his community like donate to the hospital he is a great person as well as a great hockey player.

  5. Hmmmm I'd say the whole team helps. (Pittsburgh Penguins)

  6. Rob Ray

  7. I'm a Tampa girl, and thus will have to talk about Vincent Lecavalier, the King Clancy trophy winner. His commitment to All Children's, even before the 3 million for the hospital, has been tremendous. And with the advancements he's planning for that wing, just to make kids comfortable, it's inspiring to know that he's using his means for a cause that really matters.

Brad Richards was doing similar things with Richy's Rascals- I do hope he continues that effort in Dallas, it was greatly appreciated around here!

  8. I would have to say Daniel Alfredsson - he does just about everything....

  9. I wish I could answer that for you, but the closest NHL team to me is 10+ hours away. The local Central Hockey League team does a lot of community outreach stuff though.

  10. Ryan Miller for sure

  11. I'd go with Rob Ray

  12. Chris Chelios and Darren McCarty.  Dom, although just recently retired, does a lot for the community I think.  He has some program in Buffalo to help kids pay for hockey.  I'm not sure what he does in Detroit.  Darren Mac and Chelly both have organizations that fund medical research I believe.  The whole Red Wings team visits children's hospitals for the Make a Wish Foundation or some similar group.

  13. manny legace

  14. Mario Lemieux has done more to benefit Pittsburgh than any other athlete has ever done for our city.

He created the Mario Lemieux Foundation during the same year he was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma (1993).

The Lemieux Foundation supports other organizations such as the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute, the McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine, the Leukemia Society, the Lupus Foundation and the Children's Home of Pittsburgh.

He also bought the Pittsburgh Penguins out of bankruptcy in 1999 and became president, chairman of the board and CEO of the Penguins.

Not to mention being arguably the best athlete to ever represent Pittsburgh in a sports uniform.

The list of his contributions for our city is endless. Mario Lemieux is God.
