  1. I used to think Wally the Wallmeiste was intelligent, now I see he is the typical Chicago Cub Hater.  Everything you just posted is ridiculous.  Zambrano overrated?  The guy is a workhorse with a low ERA and he hits for average.  Marmol exposed?  He had some control issues but his ERA is now at 3.00 and going down.  Harden has not shown one bit of injury, fatigue, or inconsistency.  Lou is giving him 5-6 innings and saving him for the playoffs.  Have you ever hear of Notre Dame's Jeff Samardzija?  Wood had a blister now he is back.  The offense is doing just fine and Fonzy would be a MVP candidate if he didn't miss 2 months.

Wally I guess it was tough to read the question because it says NL team.  Not another single NL team is more complete than the Chicago Cubs.  This team is poised for a great run and the road record is finally getting close to .500.  Here are some other stats that should silence all of the other critics.

         Team                           NL Rank           MLB Rank

  2. They are about as complete as a team can be but, even without Manny, I would put the Red Sox right there with them.

  3. I'm not sure!!The Angels are better  than then Cubs in every way!!

  4. First off, the Angels are more complete than the Cubs. I think their starting rotation is WAY better. Zambrano to me is the most overrated "ace" in baseball. He walks so many people. He is to me the NL version of Dice K. Hard to hit but makes his own trouble. Harden is a ticking injury bomb. Ryan Dempster has come out of nowhere. I just don't trust that rotation at all. The bullpen is very good but Marmol has been exposed and Wood is already hurt. They do have great hitting but the defense to me is really bad. Outside of D Lee and maybe Edmonds, I think everyone else is mediocre at best. Aram and Soriano just suck. (Aram can field but his arm is so wild).

The Angels to me have the better pitching and with Vlad, Hunter, Tex, Kendrick and Figgins to me, have the better lineup as well.

I also think the Rays (when healthy) and the Red Sox both have the rotational depth and offense to match them.

As for the NL, I think the Cubs are the favorite to win the pennant and I'd be hard pressed to argue against it. The Brewers have a shot as well the Dbacks but I doubt it.

  5. cubs are not going to survive in the playoffs, the marlins are going to go to the world series!

  6. what the h**l are you talking about

  7. Simple Answer, there isn't a more complete team in the NL. However, I guess the closest would have to be Milwaukee. They have the offense, and some very good starters with Sheets, Bush, Parra, and now of course Sabathia. But the Cubs are still better.

In the AL, the Angels are probably more complete, although it is a close race still. Here is my argument there:

    Starters:

    LAA:

    Joe Saunders

    John Lackey

    Ervin Santana

    Jered Weaver

    Jon Garland

    Cubs:

    Carlos Zambrano

    Rich Harden

    Ryan Dempster

    Ted Lilly

    Jason Marquis

Verdict: I think Angels win that war for sure. I love Harden and Zambrano, but the Angels complete 5 man rotation is pretty crazy.

    Closer:

    LAA:

    Francisco Rodriguez

    Cubs:

    Kerry Wood

Verdict: I'll be honest, I like Wood a lot, but with a record breaking season in his grasp, K-Rod has gotta win that war.

    Position Players:

    LAA:

    Jeff Mathis

    Mark Teixeira

    Howie Kendrick

    Erick Aybar

    Chone Figgins

    Garrett Anderson

    Torii Hunter

    Vladimir Guerrero

    DH: Gary Matthews Jr.

    Cubs:

    Geovany Soto

    Derek Lee

    Mark DeRosa

    Ryan Theriot

    Aramis Ramirez

    Alfonso Soriano

    Jim Edmonds (revived)

    Kosuke Fukudome

Verdict: Both lineups are stellar, but with the Teixeira deal, LAA might have edged the Cubbies on this one. However, with Soriano and Edmonds rockin it currently, they could win that battle.

So overall, pitching goes to LAA, although the Samardzija move is brilliant. Hitting is amazingly close only because of the Teixeira deal, but Cubs might take it in a VERY close race. However, overall, the Angels edge them out in my opinion because they have the ability to just win, win, win and are 3.5 up on Chicago (much due in part to K-Rod with 47 saves already, SICK!). Both are brilliant teams though!

  8. The Cubs arent complete , nor is any team in the NL.  I can think of teams that are equally lame as them.

  9. In the NL these is not one.  The competition would really be in their own division. The Brewers or Cardinals would be the closest.

I know it wasn't your question, but in the AL there are several teams more "complete" (better) than the Cubs.

  10. I'm partial, but definitely the Cubs.

We watch a lot of baseball, both leagues, and the Cubs have it all.  Now if they can only keep it going......THEY WILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. You may not think that there is a team in NL as complete as the Cubs & that may be true, but unless they advance to the World Series, they can have the best record & best all around team in regular season all they want, but if they fail in play offs, it's just a great regular season record & still no title but I wish the Cubs luck though

  12. This is gonna sound really stupid because they are just hovering over .500 now, but the D-Backs are just as complete as the Cubs.

You are probably calling me an idiot now but its true, now they are battling injuries with Eric Byrnes, Orlando Hudson, Justin Upton, Doug Slaten and Edger Gonzalez. When they are healthy they really do damage, as you cubs fans saw last year in the play-offs.

Once everyone (except Hudson out for season) gets of the DL, you better watch out cuz they are going on a destruction rage.

  13. there isnt one more complete, our team leads the MAJORS in hitting and is in the top 5 in every offensive category with the exception of stolen bases and triples, as of recently there hasnt been a starting rotation that has pitched better then the five we have, and our bullpen is probably the best in majors now that we have Samardzija

  14. These Angels bandwagon jumpers are killing me with this bs...The Cubs are the most complete team in the league....not only do the stats say it but the experts say it...How do you have the biggest run differential and not be the most complete....the Angels "better" rotation, has given up more runs in fewer games as well as more hits. zambrano is the best starter between the teams...over rater "ace" that's c**p...He leads the league with 50 road wins since 2002, that's more than Johan, CC, Webb, and any other Ace you would  like to compare to Zambrano....he is the only pitcher i know of with more road wins than home wins. Also not only does he not give up hits but this year he has matured and controls his emotions better and it shows...Harden is also better than any Angels pitcher *when healthy* and since coming to the Cubs he has been healthy...and Dempster has come out of no where he has better stats than any pitcher on the Angels....Dempster has been lights out, batters are only batting .207 agaisnt him. The lowest on the Angels is .233 by Ervin Santana...P.S. Rich Harden batting average agaisnt hitters is .198... Offense goes to the Cubs even though Teixeira did close the gap...but he isnt enough...Their only good bullpen arm is K Rod... Cubs have three, Marmol has regained form, Wood has always been a dominant pitcher and now Samardzija is looking like an allstar....did you'll see how he handled the Cardinals lineup for 3 total innings.. The Cubs are the most complete team.
