I have Ceramic Floors. I have tried using Vinegar and Water and it leaves bad streaks. I can't use Bleach, because I get Severe Migraines and the Bleach triggers them. What do you recommend, that I can use that is Non-Toxic around dogs, and will not leave bad streaks on my floors? Any suggestions welcome! Thanks!

  1. my daughter swears by eucalyptus oil mixed into warm water, it has a cleaning, degreasing  action, and evaoorates on drying, she also uses lavendr oil.

As an abrasive agent, mix in some baking soda, or borax, which also has a detergent action when cleaned off with warm water. takes more effort, but I lookat it as some of my daily bicep exercises!!

  2. This is my vote for the most pet and  Eco-friendly household product. I use this stuff to clean my floors, counter tops, cabinets; I wash my hair with it, take a bubble bath in it and do my laundry with it. I use it for almost every cleaning chore I've got to do. And yes, I smell like candy canes during Christmas... what could be better than Dr. Wood's Peppermint Castile soap? It works for everything!

  3. I get migraines from that sort of stuff too, pine sol just about kills me! I usually just use dish soap to clean to clean most everything, i figure if we can eat off of plates washed with it, then it shouldnt hurt the dogs at all right? besides, most of the mess on the kitchen floor is food related anyway. so we usually just use dawn, just put a small amount un a bucket and fill it with hot water, just like you were making dish water.  best of luck, and your welcome to come wash my floors when your done with yours! :)

  4. I use white distilledVinegar & hot water. This was reccomended by the guy who put in my hardwoods. It's a "food" product, safe enough to consume & it really does a nice job. Also, a gallon is only around $1 - $2 & when you mix approximately 1/2c per gallon of water...it's super cheap, too!

***Oops, I just read your question closer...streaks, huh?

How wet is your mop?(I wring mine out really good) What kind of mop? (I use a Velleda, it's got machine washable / replaceable head) I've really never noticed streaks. HMMM....

    Good luck!

  5. Hi, I use an all natural product put out by Veriuni. They are environmentally- and family-safe cleansers. None of the potentially dangerous irritants and toxins found in traditional cleaners.

I have to differ with the person who said pine-sol. While it is a good cleaner and many like the smell ( I personally don't ) it is NOT safe for pets. The pine oil can be absorbed thru the pads one their paws and can make them sick. We NEVER used it at the vet clinic I worked at.

Am attaching a link for you to check out the one I use. The ones the other person suggested from Target sound great too, I had no idea Target carried them as I don't have a Target near me.... Hope this is helpful!

**** oops wrong link the first time! lol new link below*** :)

  6. I clean houses and like to use "Dawn dishwashing liquid" on ceramic tile floors and linoleom  it really gets the dirt up and you only use a wee bit!

    good luck!

  7. I buy Method products at Target.  They are all natural.  The one for wood floors is almond scented.  The one for other floors is lemon scented.  I love them.

  8. The best is pine sol, It works great and smells so fresh, also safe for kids and animals!
