What PDA to buy? any ideas?

i want to buy a PDA that will allow me to take all my work and PDF documents with me where ever i go. my boss suggested i buy something with Windows Mobile on it. do you have any suggestions?

my main problem is i get tired of having to be alone in my room to read. i do enjoy the company of other people and being able to take mt docs with me would be nice. heck even a cheap small laptop would work.

  1. Windows Mobile phones are awful.  I replaced my Blackberry Curve with an Apple iPhone and never looked back.

The iPhone is amazing for business.  It really won't have any competition until Android phones start coming out.

I mention the iPhone because PDA's aren't a big thing anymore, but you can definitely find some good PDA picks on cnet.com.

  2. I have a PDA and I never read PDF files on it. You can't. PDF's don't re-wrap the text to your line width. To visualize what it will be like, resize the window containing a PDF until the veiwing area is about 200x400px.

Also, you can't really work on a PDA. They are just too small. Reading on a PDA is great though, as long as you don't use non-wrappable PDF's. I use mobi reader, and convert all my ebooks to prc format, and this is good.

If you wanted to read PDF's, and other documents, why not get an ebook reader, like Sony's or Amazon's? Those will definitly work with PDF's, and are much easier on the eyes than LCD screens. If you want to work away from your desk, grab a pad of paper. You can type it all up later.

  3. Go for Blackberry
