This seems akward because the US doesn't do this. I'm going to Cancun and wondered what my peso will look like when I exchange US dollar....(going to exchange to use in markets only).

  1. Why anyone would even answer after "Sparks perfect  answer" is a mystery to me.

  2. I get a little more peso (pesado) every year myself. I am American.

Have fun down there. Leave yourself some time for unplanned adventure!

  3. About halfway down the page on this link is a foto of current pesos used in Mexico.   Anything older than '92 is useless

  4. Well remember the peso isn't that much so depending on the denomination you have it could be very little and really not matter much for instance if you have a 5 or 1 its a penny or nickel if you have a 50 then it's 5.00 I get the best exchange when I use my debit card you have to remember there as well that when you take money you are getting charged a fee so don't take little amounts like 500 which isn't 500.00 dollars it's only 50.00 dollars I disagree with the other poster on the American dollar making things a higher price I get things cheaper cause I am paying with the dollar let them know you are giving them American they value that if you give them 10 to 1 usually the rate has been around 11 to 1 so you see the deal is better. If they are asking 500 peso tell them 2.50 American I always start the deal at 1/2 they will tell you they need to feed there family but stand firm walk away and you will usually win.it may go a little higher but not much.

  5. like coins... depends ps try to be careful cuz when they see u with dolares they tend to give more expensive prices when in reallity aint the real price..
