  1. 20GB, 60GB (No longer available new) or 80GB for playing PS2 games on as the 40GB is not backwards compatible. I guess it depends how many games you will buy (More games means more memory needed). As far as I know you can do the other things on any version, although if you want USB accessories you want the one with more USB ports (Which is probably the 80GB)

  2. All of the version will have the same functions for your requirements apart from the PS2 compatibility.  The 40Gb and 80Gb have less USB sockets (connections) than the 60Gb but this isn't an issue unless you're trying to do all these things at once - unlikely that you would though

If PS2 compatability is important for you (sounds like it is) the 60GB option is the best but Sony aren't making these any more so you'll have to rely on shop stock.  To be honest none of the PS3s are 100% compatible with every PS2 game,  Sony's website does have list of compatible games though.

The 80Gb version is the newest release and has the newest controllers - these are the ones with rumble built in.  As these cost about £40.00 in the shops it is a benefit  - though not all PS3 games released will have the vibration function in them

  3. The 60gb is no longer available and the 40gb is now stop being produced.

The 80gb is the ps3 for the next 12 months.  I have found a great site that compares all the U.K prices and who has stock.

    Hope that helps.

  4. You are best to get the new 80gigabyte one as you want to do all that as well as it is the newest one and all the updated features are already in place, I wouldnt worry about memory though as a PS3 has  USB ports and you can use a normal external hard drive for more if you need it

  5. how much games do u think u will get and therefore how much will you save? so if you are gonna save a lotta games then get the 80 or 60...

  6. well if you plan on continuing to play your ps2 games without the ps2 console, you might as well get the 80gig since its the only one that plays the ps2 gb.. but obviously it'll cost a lot more

if not, then you should get the 40 or 60 gig. these dont play the ps2 games.

and i also suggest you sell your ps2 games if you DONT plan on purchasing the 80 gb
