  1. The only good thing about the 60 was you were able to play ALL ps2 games.

Good Luck in finding a 60gig PS3 though. In my opinion, you would be more then happy with a 40gig.

  2. well for starters, the 60 gb version isn't sold any more. th3 40 gb version is not even sold anymore either, but sony is coming out with NEW 80gb ps3 that will basically be exactly like the 40gb except for a bigger harddrive. then there is the OLD 80gb. this one is still be sold in the MGS 4 bundle. the best ps3 is the OLD 80gb because it has backwards compatibility while the new 80 gb which will come out late august early september, does not. but it will cost 400 dollars instaed of the old 80 gb which is 500 dollars. but if you get the new 80gb you'll be missing out on BC and extra ports to put your memory cards and stuff in. also because the old 80 gb does only come with the MGS 4 bundle (which is getting hard to find just like the wii) does come with MGS 4.

so if you want BC i would pick one up now. if its not that much of a deal, then wait till the new one comes out. don't try ebay for the 60 gb version because there insanely high.

  3. You cannot get a 60 anymore, only 40 and 80. Go with the 80 if you have a need or USB and memory card readers, if not, then go with the 40gig.

  4. well they all have their pros and cons

the 60gb if u want to play ur ps2 games etc, and do everything else the ps3 does, you can still get one on ebay.

but if thats out of the questiongo for the 80gb double the memory of the 40gb

  5. the 20gb and 60gb r discontinued. it really depends what u want. if u want 2 just watch blu-ray movies get the 40 gb. but if u want 2 play games get the 80gb.just go with the 80gb.its worth it

  6. Actually, the 40 GB is being discontinued, didn't you know? But you can still find remaining supplies at stores.

The 80 GB was already discontinued some time ago

BUT, they're releasing a "new" 80 GB model, it's gonna be the 40 GB feature-wise, but with a bigger hard drive.

The USB ports are used for multiple things; the most important is recharging your controller; you plug in your controller using a USB cable to recharge it. Also, you can insert flash drives into it to put your game data on it and lots of other stuff

The USB ports aren't used for going online, you can go wireless since the PS3 comes with Wi-Fi ( all models) or use a wired connection ( there's an ethernet port on the back of it).

I suggest you wait for the new 80 GB Core to come out this Fall

And just FYI, most PS3 games take 3-5 GB to install onto the Hard Drive, and it takes up 3-5 more GB if you have 2 files of the same game ( so if you have 2 files of one game, you need 6-10 GB of space)

And just remember, the controllers are wireless, the USB ports are just for recharging them. To connect the controller to the system, hold down the PS button on the controller ( the 4 indicator lights should flash) and it should stay at indicator 1 ( controller port 1 basically)

Oh, and remember one IMPORTANT thing: the 40 GB and the "new" 80 GB that's coming out DO NOT have b/c with PS2 games, I'm assuming you know this, but this is just in case you didn't

  7. NTSC 60GB is the best - most features, but it's not manufactured anymore. 80GB is a good one too, but, unlike 60GB it supports less PS2 games (~70% instead of ~100%). Get it now, it's going to be phased out. 40GB doesn't play PS2 games at all, has 2 USBs instead of 4, no card reader. Unlike other versions, no Super Audio CD support. Going to be phased out by new "core" 80GB model (it's the same 40GB, but with 80GB HDD).

60GB can be found on ebay.

40GB aren't manufactured anymore but they are still available from any game store.

Old 80GB is available only in States and Canada.

New, core 80GB will be available from 27.08.08 all over the world.
