What PSU does my pc have?

I have a sony pcv-rz504.

Can someone advise me what PSU this has (watts, rails etc.)

  1. The best suggestion is to open the cover and look.  It is not hard and you know the information will be accurate.  

    Information on your system PSU is not on the Sony Euro web site

I agree you have to look at the PSU label to determine which one you have, there is no reference that I could find.  From what I recall from working on many Vaio PCs they have proprietary 250w to 300w with a +12v max of 14A and 17A respectively, and they are NMB brand which are not the greatest OEM units.

    your P4 3.4 prescott / 2 x ddr / 9600xt is max 205w and upgrading to a decent AGP card like the x1950Pro it jumps to 245w so only do it if you have a 300w unit if you have a 250w you will have to get a "helper" PSU like one of these that fit in the 5.25" bay
