Question:

What Paper work do my children need to travel?

We are travelling from Dublin to London Gatwick with Ryanair.

Their website says that children under 16 dont require photo id when travelling with an adult between th Uk and Rep of Ireland on domestic flights within either the uk or Ireland.

Ive tried ringing Ryanairs customer services telephone numbers to no avail and ive even emailed them and got no answer.

Im just worried that i'll turn up at the airport on the day and be refused travel coz Ive no passports for them (neither of them have one coz we've never been any where).

Everyone i talk to tells me that everyone needs a passport or some photo id to travel anywhere.

Also the children dont have my surname, they have their fathers and he will not be travelling with us at this time. Do you think that would matter?

Please if anyone has been in this situation or even has any suggestions as what to do please help as if i do need passports im gonna have to start running about and getting birth certs and forms filled in. Thanks!

  1. The only form of photo ID, that I can think of,  for a child is a passport. So you may have to hurry and get them one. As for the name it may be worth getting the father to write a letter of consent to travel, just to be on the safe side. This is what I had to get when taking foster children on holiday with us.

  2. bring a passport just in case
