What Police Officer would...

Question

Which police officer would handle hostage negotiation. Would it be just a regular uniform officer or do they have to be detective. Are there any other ranks that are there especially for handling certain situations. The two ranks I'm most concerned with are the officers who would handle a hostage situation and who would handle prostitution, but I'm still interested in the other ranks. Thanks in advance.

There are usually hostage negotiators on the SWAT or Special Response Teams that take over, but the officer that originally gets the call is dubbed the "first responder" and usually is the first to talk to the offender.

Prostitution stings are usually done by VICE and are undercover units.

They have special officers that handle that. Mostly are attached to swat teams.the are called hostage negotiators.

And seems like u like to help people, you should look into being a parole officer
