I'm 13 going into 8th grade the high school I'm going to next year isn't a big football school.

I'm 5 foot which is very small but I'm 100 pounds of pure muscle i have an 8 pack for real and am very tough i have 3 older brothers so i know how to take a hit. i am very fast but have suffered knee problems over the years. i can also tackle very well. I have excellent work ethic and will do anything to make the freshman team...i work out 3 times a week i do abs, run, and lift. I'm also a very accurate QB good mid range but i cant throw very far cuz my hands aren't to big but I'm bound to grow over this next year.

what are my chances of making the team and what position do i have a good shot at.

  1. Work on your leg strengthening and try RB ever heard of Barry Sanders? You'll get ran over at safety as others suggested giving up at least a foot to most HS receivers.  Your legs need to be extremely strong to support your problematic knees.

  2. i dought you have an eight pack

i only have a six pack and do as much workout as you

but anyway you seem like a kool guy

so i think you should play saftey on defence

and on offence you should play running back but dont do so many cuts you will kill your knees and you said you have bad knees so just use your strength (because you seem preety strong) and your speed once you get out of the d-line to get around the linebackers

    you sound good

do your best and never quit

i hope to see you in the pros

    i'll be there too lol

    later my man

  3. Well if your high school isn't big on football, then you will most likely make the team no matter what.

Usually for high school football teams, at all levels, players are expected to know how to play on both sides of the ball. So for offense i would say play running back. If you are as fast as you say then you should have no problems. And even though getting tackled isn't that big of a deal, being able to take a hit and not fumble the ball will be good to. And for defense i think you should play corner back. Since corners are the primary run support [well at my high school they are] for outside runs, you would be good to stop the runs since you can tackle well. you will also be good at covering the receivers since you are fast.

And not saying that you couldn't play other positions, i just think RB and CB are your best choices. Most high school QB's are taller because they need to be able to see/throw over the linemen. FB's need to be able to block, and no matter how strong you are at 5 foot most linemen and LB's will just run over you. And i've never heard of a 5 foot 100 pound lineman before.

But like you said you still have a few years to get bigger/faster/stronger. So keep working hard and in the future you could be playing other positions.

  4. Lol, you make me laugh.  "Over the years."  Lmao.  You're 13, you're young.

And why does everyone think it's about "taking a hit"?  Honestly, it isn't that big of a deal.  Everyone thinks it hurts getting tackled when it really doesn't.

  5. From your description you remind me of Bob Sanders a safety from the Indianapolis Colts. If your descriptions suits you. Well you should continue running because conditioning is the best thing you can have going into your freshmen year. You need to be able to play four quarters of great football. I suggest you should go out for safety.

  6. defensive back. go make the team
