  6. Short of moving to Mexico or China where children (minors) can legally work, you can't work for an employer here in the USA. There is no reason why you and your family cannot start up and run a legitimate business though. My main concern for a 12 year old is your safety. Be very careful approaching strangers to sell products and when attempting to provide services in a strangers home. Just because you have good intentions doesn't mean your potential customers share them. Keep your parents on board with whatever you decide. With that said, there are a number of products and services that you can get involved in that will help your customers make money, save money, save time, and/or get peace of mind. There are library books already written for your age group with excellent ideas and the motivation that you need. Many home business have turned to huge corporations. Look at Ebay, Dell Computers and even Coca Cola. They all started at home. Whether you choose to do yard work, run errands, housekeeping, clean basements, wash windows or do/sell anything make sure you do it with complete integrity. Check out the group, Junior Achievements, for even more ideas and networking with other teens and tweens who can help you. What works for one person won't work for another. Consider business licenses for your industry and consider writing a business plan so you have direction that will lead you to success.

  7. none

  8. Congratulations! This depends on where you live, the sky is the limit for you, but

    - You may need to "network' with others in business

    - find a marketing girl that can really get the job done

    - find a great bank [pick one with a high rating]

    - go into business for yourself - that way you are in charge and can set your own hours, etc.

    - Actually, you will be surprised. YOU can do whatever you want. If "age" is a problem or seems to hold you back [don't let it stop you], find a business partner that can help with that part, you just make the decisions.

Idea: Start your own magazine, start small, sell advertising space at the going rates. In this kind of work your age does not matter - if you do your own research, get your family involved too, find out what other advertisers are doing, just do it better!

    Never give up!
