Question:

What REAL organizations offer volunteer abroad programs for people under 18?

I have heard of people doing mission trips in high school (to get into highly competitive colleges). How would one go about doing this? I have heard it actually from a number of people but I mean, what the h**l do you do?

  2. Free the Children is an awesome organization that offers volunteer opportunities abroad for teens.  The founder, Craig Kielburger, has been on Oprah several times and they have teemed up to create 'O Ambassadors'.  Their website is http://www.freethechildren.org

    Volunteering abroad is an amazing experience so my one warning is that it's addicting!  :-)
