What RR merger would you like to see happen?

Personally, I wish the CP (my employer) would buy the ICE (Iowa Chicago and Eastern) and the Kansas City Southern to get to the Gulf like their arch-rival CN did when they bought the Illinois Central.

First.  KCS has no need to buy IC&E.  It's a freindly connection so why pay for the cow when you can get the milk for free?  CP did own the tracks through to KC but pulled out.  They operated it as the SOO and even as CP after they did away with the Soo name.  I would like the A&M to take over the M&NA.  This may not make good business sense, but I would like to see them in Kansas City.  I think that business would be better served by a dismantelling of the mega mergers so smaller railroads can provide better service and generate more on-line carloads in places ignored by the bigger RRs.

How about the Kansas City Southern ~ Iowa Chicago and Eastern buy the CP ... would that be okie dokie with you? Thats what I would like to see.

I would love to see Soo buy out Monon.

I would like Union pacific to buy Grand Canyon railway. So I can go look around that area, as the Union is my employer.

But It would be great if they could just buy BNSF and/or CSX to rule the world! (well, the US, but it needs to start somwhere)

Now that's somthing to look forawrd to. But I don't see it happening.

I personally would like to see a breakdown of all the so-called "mega mergers" and things go back to how they used to be. This would include the time when all the railroads had their own passenger service, and there was no such thing as Amtrak.
