  1. You are what you are. My father is African American and I can trace his roots back to the boat he came on. My mom is caucasian but mixed with Native American and a few other things i haven't been able to trace yet. Because of this and the fact that it has been in unwritten law since slavery that if you are even .02% African American that is the race you will be treated as, I personally have chosen to mark African American as my race. But it's your choose really. There are a few places that let you claim plain "mixed" but for those that want you to say one or the other that is up to you. How you feel about your personal heritage and how you associate yourself or represent yourself to others. It's not just about how you speak either just your mindset.

  2. It is very difficult to say without a DNA test.  You stated that you have family from Louisiana.  Perhaps there is a Creole or Cajun background?

  3. About the best response I can give based on your description is the Human Race.  However, if you don't want to be stereotyped, I suggest you use better grammar than "am I is".

  4. mixed

  5. you didnt explain enough about your mother does she have light or dark skin?

  6. creole

  7. you sound like you are of the human race...SO AM I!!!! Maybe we.re related!!!

  8. this is just due to your genes. this same case is like saying that when too blondes meet that they will have a blonde haired child. I know many dark skinned people that look like africans but they are australians with no black heritage.
