for a class assignment i need to answer some questions and one of them is what is the sub-genre of the novel? i know its a fiction book..

  1. I'm not sure that all books can be assigned to a subgenre. "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" is, arguably, the foremost novel of the genre of classic nineteenth century literature or late nineteenth-century literature. This is the book about which Ernest Hemingway famously said: "All modern American literature comes from one book by Mark Twain called Huckleberry Finn,"

    I don't like criticizing teachers. But, I think in asking you to take time to sniff out a subgenre here on your own or, as you have chosen, on  Yahoo! Answers (when, instead, you could be reading the d**n thing), yours missed the mark.

    Besides, it's such a beautiful book to just read.
