I recently got a Fortec Star Satellite console, and I was wondering what other types (different companies, etc...) of dishes would work with that console. Thanks in Advance.

  1. What Satellite Dish goes with this console?

When you say console I'm guessing you mean receiver .

Fortec is a very good manufacturer of Satellite Receivers and sells many different models worldwide.

All  dish types are compatible with the receiver , most importantly is the LNB and size of dish needed for specific satellites.

A small 18-22 inch dish with circular LNB which is common in the U.S. and Canada is typically used for Dish Network and BEV , these services require a subscription but on occasion a channel or two is left unencrypted and can be seen with  any receiver.

FTA - Free To Air is  Not to be confused with hacking receiver to view unauthorized programming , eventhough that seems to be the trend with this type of revceiver that can be programmed.

FTA Receivers are for watching any type of DVB Mpeg2 signal that is unencrypted and usually requires a 3 - 4 ft Dish for Ku and a 6-12 ft dish for C-band.

For more info on True FTA go to Satellite Guys U.S.
