What Should I Do About Me & My Family's Odd Names?

practically my whole family has really odd names. everyone at school makes fun of me and my family because of our names! what should I do? Does anyone have any weird names in their family, or am I the only one? Let me give you a list of the family names:

Grandpa: Zeus Malone

Aunt: Winnifred (Winnie)

Aunt: Breaan (pronounced Breee - ann )

Cousin: Rosalinne

Cousin: Ashleighlynne:

Cousin: Keeki

Cousin: Ross Wesley

Cousin: Georgette and Gerome (they're twins)

Brother: Domingo Rafaele

Brother: Logan Hartford

Sister: Macee Kendall

Sister: Avaline "(Ava) Amalee

Sister: Cheril

Me: Penelope Ann

All names r realy! I hate my name, but my 'rents have normal names, Robert and Aimee. HELP!!

Aww, I think Penelope is cute - do you go by Penny at all?  That's a really common nickname for Penelope, and it's not weird at all.

Logan is pretty common, as are Ross and Wesley, and I think Georgette is quite pretty.  Avaline "Ava" is very pretty and not "out-there" unusual, either - the nickname Ava is especially common lately, as it's way up there in the top 10 for newborn girls at the moment.

Zeus is definitely very different, as is Keeki.  Domingo and Macee are a bit unusual as well.  Most of the other names are just different because of their spellings - Rosalinne is more common as Rosaline, Ashleighlynne is, well, way too many letters, Gerome wouldn't be as odd if it were Jerome, Rafaele without the extra 'e' on the end is a great name, and Cheril would more commonly be Sheryl, I guess.  I like quite a few of the names, actually, and really the strangest thing about the names is the spelling.

Zeus is the name of a God. No problem there, Malone is fine too

Winnie is old fashioned, but ok

Breaan IS spelled weird, but it sounds ok

Rosalinne is fine

Ashleighlynne is actually my sisters name, but its spelled Ashley Lynn

Keeki is weird

Ross Wesley doesnt flow but is acceptable

Georgette and Gerome are fine

Domingo...weird Rafaele is exotic

Logan is boring Hartford is a strange name

Macee is ok, Kendall is a great name

Avaline Amalee is a pretty cool name

Cheril is normal

Penelope Ann is normal too.

Those names are quite strange...i don't care for any of them...but you shouldn't worry about it...it's beyond your control.

My grandpa's middle name is Tyrone.  That's an ugly name.

My great grandpa's name was Willie.

If you hate your name, you should go by a nickname like Penny or by your middle name.

My cousin Shawn and his wife Sherry wanted the "Sh" sound to continue with their kids' names, so their children are named Shayden (boy), Shyler (boy), and Shelsi (girl.)

Your names aren't weird! Most of them are very pretty. Yours is adorable! I love the name Penelope and the nn Penny. Georgette is cute and french. Logan is gorgeous, Macee is adorable, Avaline is unique and pretty, Rosalinne is mice, Ashleighlynne would be beautiful if it didn't look so ridiculously spelled. And your g-pa of course will have a strange name since most older people do. Winnie is cute too. I think your names are pretty cool for the most part.

My great aunt's name is Bertha, and my grandmothers name is Orie. It's pretty weird, but my great aunt goes by Berdie and my grandma goes by Judy (her middle name).

You could call yourself Penne (it's a kind of pasta :D). I think it's kinda cute! :)

Or Lo. Like PeneLOpe.

Or you could go by Ann, your middle name. I have a kid in my Gym class (his name is George Adam), and he goes by Adam.

The only thing you can do is change your name when you turn 18, but I wouldn't Penelope is a nice name and you could just go by Ann - nice and 'normal'.  Your siblings' names aren't terribly odd.  Anyone who makes fun of you because of your family's names must have problems of their own and are trying to make themselves look better by trying to make you look bad.  Be the bigger person and don't let them get to you!

I have very weird family names (my grandad's name is Rhombus) and no one sees it as bad, just strange and amusing.

I have relatives named Isla, Isis, Beatrice, Guillaume, Spiridon, Alfred, Adara, Eloise, Iason, Ambrose; the list goes on and on. They don't get much slack about it, except for two of my cousins: Apollo and Alban. Brothers. Yes.

I don't think they are weird or odd at all. I love your Aunt's name Winnifred. And your sisters name Avaline. About the people who ridicule you. Ignore them. To be honest they are kids and have to entertain themselves. Their brain can only go so far. I too was made fun of and had a weird name but a last name. It was a German last name.

I went to school with Thomas Jefferson III, Peter Pan, and Wendy Darling.  I have heard of Alice Longbottom Glasscock and Hedda Lettuce.  I have had Jackie Chan in one class.  However, the one that takes the cake was a young lady whose name was pronounced Ah-sholee Brown.  If I spelled it the way that she does, this response would be blipped off (replace the first h with an s, remove the hyphen and drop the last e).

Well, I think Penelope is a really pretty name.  It's a lot better than Keeki......wtf is that?!

If you really hate your name that much though, you could always legally change it or go by Ann or Penny or something.  You can't really do anything about your family's names, but if you're of age you can change your own.

You're not the only one.  My name is Zalika and my dead twin is Malika (DUMB, I know!).  My brother's name is Kevynn (like Kevin), my FEMALE cousin is named Giovanni, and I have another cousin named Rashondra.  All kinds of cultures.  >_<

Ok, Ross, Logan, and Penelope are not odd names at all. The rest are pretty weird though. Just don't tell people what their names are and you should be fine!

I don't think your names are that weird.  If you don't like Penelope then go by Ann.  I kind of like Penelope, because it's not common.  I think people make fun of your names because they're jealous that you guys are unique.

Don't worry. I bet you have friends and a loving family and that is all you need. Also you are luck to not have a plain name. If you want you can change your name or at school asked to be called your middle name. But regarless of your name I bet you are a nice and intresting person that I would be honored to meet. If others can't see that, then that is their problem. Take pride in yourself, your family, and your friends because you are important not what you are called.
