so on mondays i share an office w/ this girl.. in this office there are 2 computers.. one is the better computer which is in a better spot in the room and is much better than the other one. whoever comes in first of course gets the better computer; its never been a big issue..

but one day i had gotten there early and i put all my stuff(purse, food, cellphone) next to the good computer and then i got on a bunch of websites(facebook, yahoo, myspace, my email) and u know, i was just chillin and then a student came in and i left my seat to go help them..while i was doing this she came in and plopped herself rite down at my computer...she closed all of the websites i was on and made herself at home!.. i was a little surprised.. but didn't really say anything lol.. cuz i don't like to be rude.... i finally said something nonchalantly about my bag sitting there.. and so she handed it to me! i was pissed but i just sat at the other computer....

wat should i say if she does that again!?

  1. excuse me but I was using that computer you'll have to use the other one, thanks.

  2. Since you both like THAT computer at that spot instead of acting like children...bring it up to her. Work out a schedule so you can share the time spent on the computer. You get one day she gets the next.

  3. All you have to do is when you get up from that computer, lock it out, so only an admin or you can unlock it (using an admin password or your password).

    Problem solved.

  4. Say: I'm sorry but I was actually sitting there and you know how it goes. Or the alternative, when she gets up do the exact same thing to her and if she protests, I thought this was ok since I was just copying you.

  5. its just a computer but.. yeah just tell her whats up.. and  if that dont work put your fears aside and kick her butt when you guys go outside (:

  6. Geesh talk about being rude and a witch. That girl needs a lesson and good kick in the rear end. I would've told her, that I was there first and that she knew it.  Tell her how rude that she is and she wont get far in life acting like a that. If worse comes to worse talk to your supervisor or boss about it. Lack of communication is going on here.

  7. I would sit there until she comes in to make sure that I got the good seat.

  8. just say can i have my seat back please!

I was in the middle of a few things you didn't close the windows did you?

being rude isn't confronting someone stepping on you being rude is how you  present it!  how is your tone! is it nice!

just tell her wow making your self at home i see!  i allready started on this pc so please can i have the computer back!

don't say somethign like you brat you know i was on there first!

or use the words i feel!

i feel like the c**p on your shoe because you assume i wasn't on that computer. why would you do that!

or just question.. oh if you didn't know i was on there did you know?

Why are you sitting at my desk today?

i would talk to someone in charge and ask for passwords to be assinged to each user!  there for you have to have a password to get on the computer and if you lock it out she can't just step in!

  9. How does your boss feel about you being on those websites instead of working? Maybe  you shuold leave that part out, ya know, about you chillin.  She is rude, but its not like she closed out some important documents. geesh

  10. Well at least you only share the office with her on Mondays. Be thankful for that. The next time she does this, I would go on the other computer, and later when there's no tension ask her if maybe whoever gets the computer first in the morning could have it for the entire day, or every other monday you could switch off on the better computer, her one week and you the other. I would try not to come off as rude or bossy, just tell her there need to be some sort of rules so you can work better together. It usually helps if you kind of blame yourself, like saying you work better on one computer all day and would appreciate it a lot if you didn't have to switch back and forth. If she disagrees, or continues to do this, talk to your boss and ask her to come up with a rule for the two of you.

  11. She's going to continue to take advantage of you for as long as you let her.  It sucks, but some people are just like that.  The next time it happens confront her (as uncomfortable as it may be) and let her know you will not put up with being treated that way.  Good luck!

  12. First come first serve basis doesn't always work and in fact creates fight.

First  you did not use it for work. Be honest.

Second, tell her   in your best manner she was being rude and disrespectful.

And third, I agree with the answerer here -  make a schedule, take turns, and you will not have problems in the future.

  13. Look at it this way when she does these things to you...What goes around comes around. This annoying *#^$% you have the misfortune of working with has set her own Karma in life and I am sure it sucks for her. Take solace in the fact that she is a socially inept "you know what" and this the only way she knows how to act.

Or, just wait until she gets up and do the same to her. BUT, you really shouldn't put yourself down on her level. Good luck.

  14. Say excuse me put i was on that computer first, and i'd like to keep using it. Or if the problem gets worse talk to your boss.
