  1. I have been on holiday many times and had my lil guys looked after by my some friends. Ask around and see who you can do that for u. Either get someone that knows how to do it or teach someone. It is easy, so a few times praticing cleaning the cage and feeding and they should know how to do it. Keep it simple for them. Try to have the caregiver  give your hamster just the basics.

Everything should be just fine when u go on hoilday.

  2. Ask a friend to look after it.

  3. get a friend to care for it. write up a list of things your hamster needs on a piece of paper so the caregiver knows what to do.

  4. I have 2 gerbils who I leave alone (with plenty of food and water) if I go away for the weekend but if I go away for longer, a friend comes in every other day to give them food and water and make sure they're ok.

The easiest thing to do is to get a friend to look after it, either taking the cage to their house or leaving keys with your friend to check the hamster. Also some pet shops and vets run small animal hotels where you could leave your hamster.

  5. Let a friend look after it or if you can take your hamster with you.

  6. This depends where you live. If you live near to a friend with pet experience then ask them to look after it for you. You could also find a pet sitter or an animal boarding centre. Many of these offer small pet services as well as boarding for dogs and cats so dont be put off.

In all these cases you will need to advise them exactly how to look after your hamster, including the food it eats, details of your preferred vet, how to clean it out etc.

    Good Luck

  7. You need to find either:

    > a friend who knows how to look after hamsters that you could leave it with

    > a neighbour who is willing to come every say and feed it and give it water, though for more than about 5 or 6 days this wouldn't be practical because the cage would need cleaning

    > or a proffesional sitter.

  8. We have a friend that takes care of our Little Girl Dachshund, Lady while we are gone...ask a friend to Hamster-sit.

  9. Rip it's head off so it doesn't get into no trouble and then duck tape it back together...j/k...if you have no choice than to leave it, do what everyone else posted and Go to your 1-2 week holiday and have fun missing the little guy until your back to see a red hamster...
