I'm in college in England and I'm stuck for what to make. I have to include as many techniques as possible (eg. hand embroidery, applique, image maker, weaving, tie dye, batik etc)

Any Ideas ??

  1. How about a good old wall hanging? That's what I did for mine a few years ago.

  2. Have a look at the people who produce Art Quilts - some of them include all the techniques you have been working on.  It would be an ideal way of including X number of panels in different techniques.  If you google you'll find thousands of sites (some more useful than others), but start off with the wikipedia entry.

  3. Gosh, I'd be having trouble thinking what to leave out!

Why not do something like a simple circular skirt in natural cotton or silk, tie dye it, print some patterns or words on it (silk screen or computer transfer), use some appliqué, and embroider it with beads and metallic threads?  You could make a matching top to go with it.  Keep the shapes simple and let the embellishments and colour do the talking.  Weave a belt to go wit the outfit.

    Sounds like fun.

  4. there is a good blog that offers project ideas
