I am i unemployed mother of a 6-month old baby. MY husband refuses to pay the mortgage or any bills in the house. The house is under my sister-in-law's and my name. Ran up my credit card and refuses to pay. I lent him $50,000 and refuses to pay it back when the house is sold. He also wants to put me out of the house.

  1. Get a good lawyer IMMEDIATELY ! How could you afford to loan him $ 50,000.00, and not be able to pay your mortgage ? Something doesn't sound right !

  2. Sounds like you are pretty well screwed.

You might start by finding out what your rights are - if thats his kid, then he doesn't get to choose whether or not he pays support.

At the same time, you probably need to get out and see what you can do to improve your situation.

Good luck!!  You definitely need it.  (And so does that kid).

Should he give you any more c**p about paying - see if you know any large, imposing, and slightly unhinged dudes who are adept at coersion.  It's amazing what you can accomplish with a simple baseball bat...

  3. 1. Divorce him

    2. Find a job

    3. Chalk it up as lesson learned, because depending on what state you live in Married property/ debt  is often considered community property/debt.

  4. If you sell your house and it's in your name, then how is he going to get $50,000 to pay you back?

Where did you get $50,000? You have poor money management skills.

If it's not his house, then he can't put you out of it.

Please try harder next time when creating such a dumb story
