  1. physical...

    hit the gym more often....

work on your pullups, situps, and pushups...

    and cardio...

my friend said they did atleast 2 miles everyday....and gradually increased the mileage...

the drill sargents are real hardcore....so if they insult you or harrass you....dont take it too personally.....they're just doing they're job....

and when you come back....you will be most likely discplined and have some manners....

because my friends changed and were more appropiate....and didnt even act immature when we hung out....

    goodluck man

  2. It is Knox as in Ft. Knox!

If you speak as well as you spell I suspect you will standout....So let's get a head start on something will hear often

"DROP AND GIVE ME 20" Do your best to prove me wrong.

Keep the pie hole shut and listen.

Think out your questions...it's the Army...do not appear that you were not paying attention!!!

Do not point at food and ask WTF is that:

If it is a green looking meat like substance that is "Mystery meat". Chow down it's very good for you!

If it looks like lumpy burnt oatmeal it's SOS.

If the SOS is poured over a hockey puck...that is a biscuit!

If it is yellow and dry it is cake. Just stick it in a glass of milk, it will be fine.

If it is brown and poured over rice it is chili.....maybe...could be gravy made from left over bacon grease.

    ARE WE CLEAR???

    GOOD!

A premature welcome to "The Club"!

  3. Bring an open mind, Common sense and check your civillian life at the door.

You will be challenged physically, mentally and emotionally.

You will be ruduced to the utter enth of what you are and then rebuilt from the ground up.

Expect to be exhausted and angry, to be confused and to regret the day you ever heard the words US Army.

You do not have enough time to become physically prepared so prepare yourself mentally.

When the chips are down and you really feel like quitting remember why you are there and what you believe in.

The pay off when you get to permanent party is worth it.

And the pay-off you will have in life even more so.

You will be rebuilt into a capable and competent qualified guardian of American freedoms.

You will say "Yes I can" instead of "Gee, I wonder."

Keep your eyes on the prize son and don't hang out with losers, dirtbags or dummies.

You'll do fine as long as you always follow your last block of instructions.

    Good luck and God bless.

    Thanks for serving!

  4. Bring a Bible and read it for the strength you will need. They will break you down only to build you up. Go to Church every Sunday, you'll need it. Keep your nose clean, and keep telling yourself you can do this. It's going to be hard, they will be tough but, in the end, you will feel real good.

    Good Luck

  5. Easy its Army boot camp. If you want a real challenge you should have joined the USMC. Army boot camp is only 6 weeks and its over before it even started.

  6. Don't take anything personal--it is the DI's job to break down the civilian and remake them into a soldier.  Lot's of yelling.  Lots of Physical fitness. Lots of classes. Lots of cleaning.

Be pro-active--Put the good of the group ahead of your own and help your fellow trainees.  Also, enjoy the experience and be proud you are serving the greatest country in the history of the world.

  8. Marine Corp pull ups are dead lifts, where you just hang down completly pull your self up over the bar you gotta do 20 of them and you get 100 points 300 points is a perfect score which means you can most likely get a promotion, work on your dead lifts the most dude

  9. My son did his boot camp in 2006 - some things might have changed.

No contact with family for a month plus

Eating your meals in less than 3 minutes (in the beginning)
