Question:

What Should I use for windows of a treehouse?

Me and my friends already have a treehouse, but we want to fix it up so we can hang out inside of it. We thought we can use the plastic material they use for the windows of jeep wranglers for our windows but we don't know what that's called. Does anyone know what that material is called, or a substitute that would work as a good window?

  1. I would go with Plexi Glass, much more durable than the Polyethylene Plastic

  2. The plexiglass that's used in some picture framing would not distort the view the way something more flexible does.  Check with a craft store like Michael's for pricing.  If you're just trying to keep out rain and cold though, the clear vinyl that's sometimes used to cover upholstery is a bargain.  Again, check with a local upholsterer.

  3. WHY WINDOWS. LEAVE IT OPEN FOR A BREEZE..JUST HANG A CURTAIN..

  4. Are you talking about windows you could roll up?  That is clear flexible vinyl, and you should be able to get some of it at a fabric store like Joanne's.  If that is it, you could also rig it up with cords to hold it like a window shade.  In the department where they sell drapery stuff and upholstery stuff, you can also buy strips of cool things like tape with snaps every few inches, or continuous Velcro.  Or you could put grommets and laces, like your sneakers.  (They sell grommet makers -- very inexpensive and fun too.)

If you want something rigid, like Plexiglas, you could get it at an art supply store or even at the hardware store (where they will cut it to size for  you for a price).

(Not sure what is on a Jeep Wrangler.)

Sounds like a fun project, so enjoy!
