  1. You could always go back to work part time at first.  Then you could see how that goes, and if it feels right you could slowly enter back into the work force.  As for the child care, you should research the assistance that you can receive from the state.  It sounds as though you are fairly low income, perhaps you can get help with that so that the money you earn can provide food and shelter for you and your new baby.  I wish you luck.

  2. If you're in the UK you'll be entitled to tax credits and your organisation may be in the childcare vouchers scheme which works out as really good value.  The father of the child should of course contribute and may be able to help with caring as well.  It's good for children to attach to as many people as possible - it help the socialise more easily as they get older and become more independent.  Have a chat with someone in your HR department.  They may be able to help you to come up with a sensible compromise or solution.

  3. Everybody is scared to leave their child.  But many many mothers have to do it.  You can subsidize your daycare - see somebody at the Human Services Dept of the State ~ they will help you.

Maternity leave doesn't pay you while you are gone ~ all it does is guarantee you will get your job back when you return.  You can return as early as you want (6 weeks at the very least).  Who will support you & your baby?  Did you think of these things before you got PREGNANT ?????

Maybe that would have been a good idea.

Or do you just want the rest of the taxpayers to support you and your baby now?

Keep your job or get a better one.  Find cheaper daycare and support yuorself and your child.  It is the RIGHT thing to do.  You could find the baby's father and get some child support from him too you know.  Good luck with all that.
