What Should you do...?

What should you do on the golf course if there is a group of four old people in front of your group, that are playing really slow (walking slow between shots as well!) and are not letting you play through? There was no wardern in sight to complain to and my friends had to leave at the end of the 9th hole because we should have finished the whole 18 holes by then!

The old m an was really arrogant and I felt like slapping him right in the face.

Did you ever consider asking themif you could play through...they should get the point after that.  If they refuse to let you, point out the fact that you are playing much faster than them, and that there is an open hole ahead of them.  If they refuse, simply go past them and skip the hole.  Then tell the Pro in the shop about their behavior.  He will be waiting for them when they get done to tell them to shape it up.  Pros hate slow play, it means they cant sell as many green fees.  They are running a business, and its all about getting as many players out there as possible.

Give yourself a par on the hole and go through them. I've skipped holes before to get around slowpokes who wouldn't wave me through.

Not a lot you can do except complain when you get back. They really should have shown you the courtesy of playing through. Why do the older generation moan about the fact that the younger generation have no manners and then they behave so badly.

You get their attention with a shout of "Fore", hit your golf ball and play through. They may get a little upset but it is off-set but their rudeness. Case closed.

Just jumped a hole , at least you only miss one not nine as happened to you. There really is no excuse for bad manners and they should have waved you through , I would have had a major moan back at the clubhouse.

About the only thing you can do is ask politely if you can play thru.  If they refuse, you should proceed right to the clubhouse and report them.

get ya bowl and then basically just get the ball and play through them whether they like it or not and if they get nasty wrap club round their caddy!

Everybody has a cell phone...call the clubhouse from the course and tell them to get someone out there.

Just shut your mouth, play through, skip a hole if you need to.  Make sure no one is playing in front of them. Keep hacking.
