Question:

What Shows are Similar to House MD?

I'm in love with the show House MD ( i dont really care whether or not the medicine "practiced" is real or not) it's fantastic because it's captivating and makes you think. Well I've watched all the episodes over the summer and now am in need of a new tv show until the 5th season starts in September.

I would prefer show(s) similar to House, not necessarily the medical stuff, but the non-stop action portion of the show. I dont enjoy shows like The Hills, The OC, Grays Anatomy or any of those dramatic-love-hate relationship shows. They're too predictable and just flat out annoying...

So that being said, what are some good shows that are most likely available online to watch?

Thanks!!

  1. Why don't you try some crime shows like Law and Order, Law and ORder SVU, Cold Case, CSI..

These are all "Crime Drama" shows.. House was originally inspired by such Crime Dramas.. the creator said.. "hey.. why don't we have a simliar "Crime drama" only the suspects are diseases we have to find out which is "guilty" and the "investigators" are a crack team of doctors."

So, I think  you could really get into the crime drama shows

My favorite is "cold Case" because it REALLY involves you emotionally through the story, especially with the way they use music. (similar to how House sometimes  uses music for emotional effect, but even more so.)  It's about a special group of police that investigate murders that have "gone cold."  You'll find it's similar  to House in the way that the group of police investigators have to interview people (who always lie or hide something, just like in House!) and layer by layer, they have to peel away the red herrings to find the truth underneath.

I'm also a BIG House fan.. and crime dramas are my 2nd favorite shows next to House.

EDIT: I almost forgot about BONES!!!! It's so similar to House in many ways.. You should definitely check it out. I think you'll like it. LIke House, It deals with a genius (This time a woman) who is a super-expert at what she does (analyzing human remains, especially bones, to help the FBI solve crimes.) She even has a "Team" that helps her.. Aside from her being MUCH nicer (She lacks natural tact but has at least a DESIRE to be nice to people and doesn't think it's OK to be a jerk) I think you'll find her similar to House in alot of ways.

  2. http://www.tv.com/house/show/22374/simil...

  3. There's nothing really similar to  House, but if you want some fun action - try Burn Notice on the USA network.  Lots of clever dialog and things blowing up, and it's funny.  The new second season episodes are running this summer, but they're on a break until September 11th.

Personally I don't recommend online viewing, but a lot of people like www.surfthechannel.com

  4. hmm that is tough as Intelligent shows are a rare breed--

if you like the mystery/puzzle  part maybe try the UK's Jonathon Creek

He solves mysteries- I haven't fiqured one out yet!

    "Jonathan Creek

Popular actor and award-winning stand-up comedian Alan Davies is the eponymous master of illusion, applying his genius to the solution of more seemingly impossible scenes. Jonathan Creek is a quiet but brilliant man who makes a living inventing magic tricks for a famous magician Often accompanied by his friend, crime writer Maddy Magellan, together the pair crack a number of baffling murder mysteries, that is until Maddy can no longer afford the time involved. However, Jonathan isnbt alone for long, as when recruited by a TV crime programme he is re-united with his ex-girlfriend, Carla Borrego, who is as pushy as Maddy and an equally determined amateur detective. Together they successfully close a number of cases."
