What Size Amp??

Question

I have 2 DCM KX-12 Speakers which each have 250W of total power. How much watts should the amp be? I found a great deal on an 1000w amp but would that be too much?Someone please let me know.

1000 watts is way too powerfull, a lot of people are obsessed with wattage of amps but it's not the be-all and end-all when it comes to power, a lot depends on how the power is delivered.

If you look at most 'High End' amps, many of them have an output around 40wpc.

With those speakers I would suggest an amp of around 60 wpc, this may not sound a lot but believe me, if you get a decent make of amp, it'll blow your windows out!
