I'm guessing that 1,000 watts is the maximum power rating which means your rms rating is probably under 500.  You could use 4 awg and be fine.  Unless my assumptions are wrong.

12 to 8 guage speaker wire should be just fine..... you could even use 16 guage wire i just dont like it because its just too thin for my taste. the other answers where giving you the size of power wire for your amp and as far as power wire they are right.
