What Sound System Should I Get? You Pick!?

Ok, please keep in mind I am on a limited budget, But what I'm Kinda looking for is a system that I can build on later on with out having to upgrade what I've already bought. We're living in an apartment right now as I'm fixing up our new house. I want loud crisp music I'm looking to start with a nice DVD/Reciever and some nice floor speakers. I don't like the 5.1's (I've had them) In the new house I will get wireless rears. So to mahe this easy Who has the best floor speakers and reciever. It doesn't matter if its a package or not. Your question is very difficult, but let me offer some suggestions. It sounds to me like you are running 2 channel audio only. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT AT ALL. Many 2 channel receivers are still made.   Onkyo and Yamaha make at least 2 models. I've tried some of them out and they were great. They also have good phono inputs (something that is stupidly missing from most other receivers).

  As far as speakers are concerned. That is much too tough to call. Your just going to have to do A LOT of shopping around and let your ears be the judge.

  Virtually all DVD players that I've come across will work with 2 channel set ups. That is an absolute must, because like you, not everyone is into surround sound. If you don't have a DVD player, just pick one that is easy for you to operate and generally does what YOU want it to do.
