Personally, I say Texas. I'm not really looking for an "answer" more like a opinion. Share your thoughts!

  1. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts has a rich and diverse history.

It was the birthplace of independence and has a long history of individual liberty and respect for differences and free thinking.

  2. I love your answer of Texas.  But, I grew up there, and we had to take  a manditory Texas history class. Other than the Alamo, there really isn't much.

If you want to choose, i'd choose Virginia.  It started everything with Jamestown in 1607.  Many of our nations earliest presidents and leaders were from Virginia.  George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and James Monroe all hailed from Virginia.  Also, it was considered the seat of American power well into the 1800's. It has a rich history in the Civil War, as much of the war itself was fought in the miles between Richmond and Washington, D.C.  Hope this helps

  3. My home state of course ... Tennessee!

  4. Pennsylvania I say that because of our great fore fathers and the

American revolution.  I would love to spend sometime there soaking up all that history.

  5. New York

  6. California...the path to statehood was quite the sordid affair.

  7. massachusetts is where it all began first thanksgiving kicked englands butt need i say more

  8. Michigan - Just a glance at a map will reveals much about its mucked up history.  The city, town and county names are a mix up of Indian, French and English names.  It's history is also full of interesting, colorful characters such as Cheif Pontiac, Father Marquette, Walt Chrysler, Bill Kellogg and Henry Ford.

  9. I don't know about the "best',but I would say the most unique is Texas.

In the Caddo Indian language,"Tejas" (teh- has) means   friend. The Caddo's were the only North American Indian tribe to practice ritual cannibalism.

Texas is the only state in the United States that was once an independent country and can revert to being one with 2/3 vote from the Texas Legislature at any time.

There are about 254 counties in Texas. When Texas gained its independence from Mexico in 1836,the newly elected Texas Legislature named the first 187 counties after each of the Alamo defenders as a lasting tribute.

  10. Ask 50 different people, get 50 different answers.

Except, of course, for all those people in other countries, who might give you different answers...
