What Swing Coaches and Golf Critics have to say for Hank Haney’s latest release “The Big Miss” Part-1
The book is finally out. The curtain has been raised.
Excerpts from one of the most controversial books in sports history will be pouring from everywhere in no time after the slated release on March 27 but here is a take of what the swing coaches and critics have to say over Hank Haney’s dig on his former pupil.
Rick Smith said, "I would rather be broke and not have a penny to my name before I violate the code of player-teacher confidentiality. In 27 years out here, I've never done that. I'm personally upset with Hank because he's broken and violated our code of
ethics. If you have the opportunity and you're privileged to conversations, you will not and should not share anything from them with anyone. I don't care who it is”.
Smith is the CEO and President of the Rick Smith Enterprises and is considered as one of the best swing coach in the world. He was rated among the top-five swing coaches in the world by Golf Digest.
This is not just Smith’s take on the release of personal information on Tiger Woods, rather every sane person related with the sport has lamented Haney’s attempt to undermine his pupil’s image.
Haney insists that he wanted the world to know the darker side of the one of the most successful sportsman of 20th century and has repeatedly said that he has no personal enmity with the player.
Woods landed the Arnold Palmer Invitational title last week, bringing an end to his winless streak which lasted for no fewer than 923 days.
The timing of the victory could not have been more appropriate as the former world number one is preparing for the first major event of the year, the Masters at Augusta National.
Critics are also of the view that Haney deliberately selected March 27 as the date of release, just a week ahead of the Masters, in an attempt to undermine Woods’ performance in the event.
The event is scheduled to start in the April and will feature top-50 players from Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR).
